La Habra Tamale Festival

You're invited to the City of La Habra's 4th annual Tamale Festival, to be held on Sunday, November 26th, 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.  The event, which is the largest tamale festival in Orange County, is held on Euclid St., between La Habra Blvd. and Lambert Rd., as well as in Brio and Portola Parks, which are in that area.  Activities will include tamale and salsa contests, dance performances by local studios, and musical performances by Soto, with its top 40, cumbias and salsa tunes, and Mariachi Espectacular.  Cindy Shea, of the Mariachi Divas, will be appearing with the latter group.  There will be many vendors selling a variety of items, as well as many tamale vendors.  New this year is a tamale making lesson, that will be held at 11:00 a.m.  The cost to participate, if paid in advance, is $5 and $7 on the day of the event; the fee includes a reusable bag, an apron, a masa spreader, and materials to make three tamales.
